To sell or re-build?

Initially, the only thing I wanted to do was sell the land and get rid of these bad memories. My husband, who processes things less frantically than me said that we should wait and see how we feel.

Due to the current inflation (2022) and building costs (the national average was around $250 per sqft) It would have made more sense financially to just sell the land and move on. But something was pulling us in the direction of re-building. We scoped out builders and let some time to go by. We also looked at different designs and as soon as we started to have a vision of what is could look like, we started seeing a way forward. Yes, it would cost us more but we could create something really beautiful.

My husband and I are both photographers and we find so much joy in creating beautiful things and we felt like in some weird way we were given an opportunity to create something really special.

Once we felt that pull, everything started falling into place. We found an awesome builder that understood our ideas and vision and we finally felt like something good was going to come out of a bad situation.
