When we first started looking into rebuilding options we knew we wanted more of a modern cabin feel. I took to pinterest for inspiration and kept gravitating toward the same style and feel.

I’d followed Den for quite sometime and loved the simple modern cabins with a scandinavian feel. I know A-frames are super popular right now but we wanted to go with a more timeless design. So we decided to go for one of the barnhouse designs but we are customising it to fit our needs. The total square footage will be close to 1300 sqft which is going to feel huge compared to the 900 sqft we had before. We have lots of trees around so the original cabin could be quite dark in the thick of summer so we are making sure to have lots of windows to add lots of natural light and the feeling of being in a treehouse.
